And finally we come to the final day, our happily ever after (for now). And although this is the end to this series of blog post (THANK GOD), we still hope to bring new content that you will grow to love and enjoy too. Happy endings and Disney just go together. People leave Disney (the happiest place on Earth) happily ever after. Endings for Disney are not meant to be sad, and if they are a squeal that may break your heart (I'm looking at you "Cars 2") will come along eventually...probably.
Tammy: My favorite happy ending comes at the end of "Wreck-It Ralph", and like I've mentioned before this is one my favorite Disney movies and I could watch it a thousand times and not be bored of it. I won't ruin the ending, but everyone ends up happy, together, in this video game world and it's beautiful. It's beautiful knowing that a bunch of characters who wouldn't get along normally are able to save the video game and be able to be happy together. And it's perfect for people who feel they don't fit in or people who just want a happy colorful story. I love it. Angela: There are so many happy endings, it is very hard to pick. My favorite happy ending is in "Lilo & Stitch". They were all outcasts and find a way to come together. Stitch learns the true meaning behind Ohana, and shows us all that we can be family and look out for each other. The ending just makes you all happy inside. What's your favorite happy ending? Are you as happy as we are that this Disney month is over? What do you want us to write about next? Let us know in the comments! Magical moments are the cornerstone to Disney and all it's greatness. When I think magic, I think Disney (and magicians, but they're not as popular anymore so...) In fact Disney is known as a magical place to so many people. What's more magical than flying on a little faith, trust, and pixie dust?
Tammy: So my most magical Disney moment would probably come from "Tangled" when Rapunzel's hair is glowing. Basically anything to do with her hair or the lights just screams magical to me. I know it might seem lame to call the most magical moment something that may seem so basic, but to me that part of the story just gives me warm feelings. If Rapunzel didn't have magical glowing hair the movie would lose something super important to the story. The magical hair brings to life (lol) the entire "Tangled" story. Plus the lanterns in the sky seem super beautiful and magical in their own sense. Angela: I think my most magical moment would be in "Cinderella" when the god mother changes everything so she is ready for the ball. Who has not wanted someone to just come in and give them everything they need to be ready for a date, or part, or any other big event in their lives. She literally goes from rags to riches at in a matter of seconds thanks to magic. If she didn't have this transformation the movie would probably not have the same meaning behind it, and she wouldn't be missing a shoe. What's your most magical moment? Disclaimer: Not affiliated or sponsored by Disney. Also sorry this came out a day late, we had some rain that messed up our plans. Spoopy Disney is a thing, but spooooOOOoooOOOooOOooooOoooooOoOOOOoky Disney is also a thing. Disney is not completely known for having the scariest movies, but there definitely are some spooky moments that scared me as a kid (and sometimes as an adult). When thinking of scariest moments I think about some of the great Halloween Disney movies, "The Nightmare Before Christmas" or even "The Haunted Mansion". Heck even some of the villains at times can give me quite a fright.
Tammy: "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is probably one of my go to Halloween films, and although it was not originally Disney, they own it now, and boy do they milk it at Halloween. The movie itself is not all that spooky to me anymore, but I have fond memories of Oogly Boogly being the scariest thing ever. Now I'm not so much afraid of this movie, accept Oogly Boogly, but I still love him. Angela: Now my movie is not scary in the least, in fact it is very much a favorite of mine, but this one scene is very scary and sad. In "Toy Story 3" there is a scene with an incinerator that had me very scared and concerned, not to spoil it for those who have not seen it, it has been 7 years and they are making another one, but luckily all our favorites live. While it is not a very scary scene, it is defiantly one that tugs at you and no one is able to forget, especially if you grew up with these toys. What would you say is the scariest Disney moment? Disclaimer: We are not affiliated or sponsored by Walt Disney Company. Disney, as we've mentioned previously, is known for making people smile and more importantly laugh. I can think of multiple different clips that still to this day make me laugh, and even tomorrow and years to come. Now normally it would be difficult to pick the best Disney clip that makes me laugh all the days, but I'm ready. I'm prepared for this. I only have a few days left and these last ones are honestly the hardest, what was I thinking?
Tammy: So my funniest moment would come from "Monsters Inc." Now this will not really ruin any of the movie or general plot, so no worries (plus the movie has been out for at least 10 years watch it already). Mike Wazowski, by far one of my favorite characters ever, is on the scare floor with Sulley when he yells "PUT THAT THING BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM OR SO HELP ME!" Then the entire scare floor stares at him, and he comes up with an excuse that he's practicing for the company play. Then the lie just continues and I love it. If anyone has a shirt that says this I will buy it. This is probably one the funniest moments from the movie, although contrary to what you may believe about a monster movie, this movie has many funny moments. Although most of these moments will spoil a major plot point in the general movie so I won't share them. Angela: My favorite funny moment is in "Mulan". I don't think this is spoiling anything, but I could be wrong, so be wary. So it is at the end of the movie, she has come home and is out talking to her father and giving him back his sword, while her mother and grandmother are out at the edge of the yard. Her grandma makes a comment about her just bringing back a sword from war, and in walks Shang looking for her. Then grandma says, "Sign me up for the next war!" It's just so funny in how everything lines up. What's your funniest moment? Let us know in the comments! Disclaimer: We are not sponsored or affiliated with Disney. While Disney movies are known to being joyous, they also have bit of sadness. I think any good story has both joy and sadness in them. If you think about your favorite movie, does it leave you feeling emotionless? Mine doesn't. I feel hundreds of emotions, joy, fear, anger, sadness, humor, and I could go on. There's so much more to Disney beyond just a cheerful moment. There's the sadness of family members dying, the anger of the evil step-mother getting her way, and then there's the happily ever after. But without all these emotions filling the space and time of the movie, would the movie be as good?
Tammy: So as to not entirely spoil the movie I won't give away the EXACT saddest moment for me, but in "Inside Out" there is a moment that brought me to tears. "Inside Out" is one of those movies that has you constantly feeling different emotions because this is what the whole premise of the movie is. Now this sad moment doesn't remain sad forever, and that's the same way with life. No matter what you're going through even the saddest moments will end and a happily ever after is soon on the way. Angela: The saddest moment for me is from "Tangled". It is towards the end, Flynn is in deep trouble and could use her magic to heal, but he also knows that her hair is a blessing and a curse. So in one moment both of their lives change so drastically, I will not spoil it, but from the sad they are able to survive and continue and get the happily ever after that she has always wanted and been waiting for. What do you think is the saddest Disney moment? Disclaimer: We are in no way affiliated with the Disney company. How appropriate is a holiday themed movie day, 6 months away from Christmas! It may be too soon to be counting down the days to Spooktober or Thanksgiving, and even Christmas, but guess what...I am! The only thing I love more than holidays and themed decorations are the movies I can watch in the comfort of my own home. And guess what...Disney has a bunch of them! Whether you want a spooky Halloween movie or a family favorite Christmas movie, Disney has got you covered. If we delve into the world of DCOMs you have St. Patrick's Day, Hanukkah, and more. Let's just say there's lot's of options for a Disney holiday themed movie night.
Tammy: So I love Christmas and Christmas movies, but I have an absolute soft spot for some Halloween movies. Specifically "Frankenweenie" is probably my favorite holiday themed movie. I don't know what it is about the movie, the story-line, the idea of life and death, but it's just one of my favorites. I think it's probably one of the great Disney treasures that people forget about. If I had to decide on only watching one holiday movie this year, this would be it (but I would never do that because it's impossible for me). Angela: This was super hard, but alas I must pick. My favorite is "Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas". It has 3 Christmas stories in one. It has the Duck clan who keep repeating Christmas and then learning what the day should really be about. Then the Goofy family goes back and forth about making the other believe ins Santa still. The final one is with Mickey and Minnie in the gift of the magi, where both buy a gift for the other giving up something they really love. All of these show how much the families mean to each other. I remember watching this with my parents and grandpa before we left for Christmas Eve Service and loving how we all enjoyed it and how well it could relate to all of us, at our different stages of life. What's your favorite holiday themed movie? Is there one movie you have to watch every season? Let us know in the comments! Disclaimer: We are in no way affiliated or sponsored by Walt Disney Company. I cannot believe this is the last week of Disney Days! It's been a wild journey, and I can't wait for more Disney in the future, and other stuff too! Also I will stop with the excited exclamation marks for now, but really this is an exciting time. When I think of classic Disney characters I think of the OG crew, the originals. I think of Mickey and Minnie, Daisy and Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Pete, and even Chip and Dale (not pictured, but still included because OG). It's a smaller list than what we've been dealing with the last 24 days, but still just as difficult. They're all great in their each individual ways. And they're all so very different from each other too. It's crazy how such differing personalities have been able to ban together in friendship, but that's kinda how life works too, isn't it?
Tammy- So I have a deep love for many of these characters, all for different reasons. However, if I were to pick just one it would be Minnie Mouse. I love Minnie. I love her bows. I love her color scheme. I think her voice and laugh are just about the cutest thing in the world. She is incredibly sweet and has always stood by Mickey's side even through every decision he's had good or bad. Angela- After much thought I am going to go with Mickey. He is the true classic Disney character, since he is technically the original, coming from Steam Boat Willie. He is the glue that holds the group together. What would Disney be without him there. He has such a simple look and classic colors. As a child we had a sweater with him on it that included ears on the hood, and we would both fight over who got to wear it, giving our parents a headache since we only had 1. Who doesn't want to be Mickey or friends with him, everyone wants to get his ears when they go to Disney. He is truly what Disney is! What's your favorite classic Disney character? I could list a quote from Walt himself, or from a movie. And really there's sooooo many to pick from. There are so many good Disney quotes for every single occasion. In fact, at a graduation party this year I wrote different Disney quotes for each person (they were triplets, it was fun). Besides all the words of wisdom from Walt himself, you have all these movies with one-liners that can just move your heart. I just give mad props to the writers for these movies because I can't tell you how many times I've said "Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." And immediately pictured the scene with Stitch and almost cried right then and there. Words are powerful and these Disney knows how to do it.
Tammy: "Who says we have to grow up?" -Walt Disney For this day I decided to go with a quote directly from Walt himself. I think I along with many adults emulate this quote in our daily lives. But really, why do we have to grow up? I mean of course I'm more mature and I'm obviously growing older, but why do I need to stop appreciating the joys of childhood because I'm over 20. I think that's something great about Disney, the movies, the parks, and everything in-between. There's something special about Disney and it doesn't end when you get older, it just gets better. I'm so excited for what is in store for me from Disney, not directly of course, but every movie and merchandise and TV shows, and even those cool Disney apps are for me (indirectly) and I'm so excited. Angela: "If you can dream it, You can do it." -Walt Disney "When you wish upon a star your dreams come true" -Jiminy Cricket I was between two, I will mention both since they kind of go together, but my favorite is the one by Walt himself. He created this whole world and dreamed about it, and it became that. So if he is able to do that I am able to accomplish so much also, even if it is little things like getting a job I love. The other is so related to the whole Disney franchise I wasn't sure who actually said it. It is a saying that is said many times through Disney. It is a favorite quote of many, I am sure. It is told to little babies and children probably as often as parents say the one from Walt. Both quotes are so wonderful in helping us all to remember to continue to follow our dreams, no matter how hard or long it takes. What's your favorite quote? Let us know in the comments, we'd love to hear from you! Disclaimer: We are in no affiliation or sponsorship from Walt Disney Company. Pixar, as you may already know, has some of the best movies mad. However, even better than their movies our their shorts. And there are so many wonderfully, beautifully made Pixar shorts. I don't know how I will pick just one. One of the fondest memories I have growing up was watching "A Bug's Life" and with this movie came one of the first award winning Pixar shorts "Geri's Game". As a kid I didn't know what the name of it was, but I knew it was an older man who played chess and in the end it was against himself. It was adorable. I loved it. And most importantly every time it played on my screen I knew I was that much closer to finally watching my movie.
Tammy: My favorite Pixar short, although "Geri's Game" is definitely up there would be "Lava". This short was released with "Inside Out" and you can find it on YouTube. This is a great little song and short, and it makes my all warm and happy inside. Words cannot express the feelings this Pixar short gives me and I just love it. Angela: My favorite is "The Blue Umbrella". It was released before Monsters University. It is a cute story about 2 umbrellas, one is red and one is blue, I know I wonder how they came up with the name right. Well they get stopped at a light and see each other in the sea of black umbrellas and become smitten. Then through the magic of movies, well shorts in this case, they get separated, but end up reunited. It's so cute, and you wouldn't expect to be drawn in to umbrellas and their love story, but you do. It also has a beautiful background music. What's your favorite Pixar short? Disclaimer: We are in no way sponsored or affiliated with Pixar or Disney or shorts. Villains. Some people absolutely love Disney villains. Others don't, but I honestly don't understand because villains are some of the most complex characters. I love them, sometimes they do the wrong things, but they just want a better life. I really appreciate the villains who learn to be better from their actions. Sometimes being bad is good? I think that's a song. It's probably a song.
Tammy: My favorite villain would probably be Ursala. I remember being little and having an Ursala bath toy and for some reason she was my favorite. Ursala was only a villain because she wanted Prince Eric. Then Ariel had to get in the way. Plus her evil eels are probably the coolest pets/henchmen ever (after the henchmen I already wrote about). An honorable mention will go to Mother Gothel because "Mother Knows Best" is an amazing song. Angela: My favorite is Hades. He is so sassy in the movie, and I just love it. I like that his hair goes kind of crazy when he gets really angry. His little henchmen are part of what make him great. He should be okay to Hercules since they are technically family, but dealing with the underworld makes him a bit grumpy I guess. He makes almost everyone else do his dirty work, including Meg, and then realizes he should have done it from the start. On top of all this, he looks creepy, which tends to make for a good villain. What's your favorite villain? Do you love them or hate them? Disclaimer: We are no way sponsored or affiliated by Walt Disney or their villains. |
